Hi, my name is Sylvia Zygalo and I write at the intersection of food, wine and design.

I was born in Poland, moved to a sailor’s paradise in Germany and immigrated to Vancouver, Canada with my family in 1991. Although primarily mellow, I posses a type of personality which irritates my life with relentless procrastination and yet unexpectedly brings forth the determination to succeed in areas that I feel must be met. It’s a strange balance but it works for me.

I follow my heart by surrendering my curiosity to evolve with all surfaces of life that I find to be captivating in complex or basic ways. Although not a pure artist, the movement of life through emotion is a route I tend to run. I genuinely enjoy sharing beautiful things, whether or not they were made by me. I also consider design to encompass a wide variety of subjects, even music or the design of words.

I currently reside in Brooklyn, NYC.
